New glaze in development (Garurumon Line)
With my recent success in making my own version of ancient copper type glaze I have set my lights on a dark blue matt type glaze. And of course we gotta name is after the main line of Digimon. The Digimon I plan on naming it after is, Garurumon. A wolf like Digimon with blue and white fur. I name most of my glazes after Digimon, just Incase you were confused. Fortunately for me I got very lucky with a cone 6 oxidation base glaze I designed a long time ago. The first line of tests were the base glaze with iron and black nickel oxide; in oxide that in high amounts can make a blue. Usually 4%+ per every 100g can make a dark blue or almost black glaze. Problem is the last time I played with it I put far too much nickel oxide in the glaze. This test went 1.0g- 2.0g - 3.0g
The first test tile came out great. Keep in mind this is a 100g batch and the pictures you are about to see were fired at cone 5.5 oxidation. As always I double dip my tiles for the halfway point up so from the mid line up it’s thick.
