Learning as we go

it's been a couple months since I've had the website up and running and throughout this time I have finally decided to make a few things standard .

#1 for now I have set a standard price that items cannot go over. For example

  • Bowl sets never go over $55

  • Mugs do not go over $55

  • Gourds do not go over $60 (because they're a little harder to make)

  • Tea pot sets ( a teapot and two cups included) do not go over $90

  • plate sets do not go over $50

this is for a few reasons. I used to have a system in which I would let people pick their own shipping prices but now all of the shipping is included in the item, and yes, that means a mug is $55 maximum with shipping included.

this means for the foreseeable future I will not charge over $55 for any one single mug and that includes shipping. to be clear that does not mean that I'm going to make every single mug $55, that $55 mug will probably be very impressive in my eyes.

#2 I've decided instead of separating and organizing things that I will just put everything into one general page. I get that everyone's not as technologically savvy as a lot of other people are and because of this I'm just putting all of my items and prices into one page where you can shop easily instead of having to navigate around every time you want to see something different. I feel like it makes the store look more full and it's probably a little easier to look at stuff.

#3 I'm going to make a new welcome video and I will also start putting up secret videos and Easter eggs on this website. this is for the real fans of my work and YouTube channel who actually come and check this stuff almost every week to see what's new.

#4 I have decided that I hate plastic a lot and I'm now switching to a 100% recyclable paper form of shipping packaging. I haven't figured out a cost-effective way to use packing peanuts yet but as far as the plastic itself goes I figured that I can very easily switch to ranpak, which I love now.

#5 I'm going to start making small sets of things. A lot of you guys like my snowfall combination or certain blues that I do and because of this I have just decided to make more than one of that item and put them in the stock.

I fought this system for a long time because I felt like it was being a little bit cheesy or too business savvy and not heartfelt, but, I'm slowly learning through running my own store that this not only makes customers easier to get stuff from me but it also makes it so that customers take less advantage of me at times.

I know this was a long one and if you stuck in there I really appreciate your time.
